My first letter booklet.

I thought I'd have a go at making a letter card.
I'm quite pleased with the result but have noticed one or two mistakes but, atleast I'll know for next time.

The builders are here....

.........and goodness me, what a mess!!!

There's mud everywhere, brick dust flying about, water splashed all over the walls and half naked lads strutting around in hi-vis vests and foundry boots!! Oh, and they've scratched my car and my neighbours car too!! Hmmmm!! Not impressed!!

Now theres a diet coke add if ever I saw one!!

The company have taken on my 18year old son to work with them and he's working on our house! Cool eh?

They've been here three weeks and they've dug out the extension footings and the new size patio plus, (bless them) they've been removing the roof and walls of the garage ready for the new build but its been a lot harder than they thought it would be.

They've got through seven rotary cutter blades in just a week!!

All this rain hasnt helped much either. Poor sods, out there in all weathers.

I've kept them well fed watered with mugs of tea, sandwiches and pizzas. Apparently, the lads on other sites want to come and work here!! LOL

I'll compile a slideshow (if I can work out how to do it) of the before and after pictures.

Oh well, might get a lay in tomorow if they dont turn up at 8am as per usual!!LOL

Just keep repeating top myself.."It will be lovely when its done..it will be lovely when its done..it will be......"

Love and hugs JenniferXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Not much crafting going on around here!!

I've only made 3 cards this week!! Shock horror!! Shame on me!!
My excuse? I've got the builders in and I've been busy making them cups of tea, bacon sarnies and jugs of iced juice.

The first few days were lovely and sunny and I managed to sit down and make a couple of cards but, the past few days it has been pouring down!! I've been so busy keeping the dogs indoors wiping their feet when they have been out for a tinkle plus sweeping the floor from when I have to make trips to my once warm, cosy pretty little downstairs loo that that is now a cold, unfriendly outside 'dunnie'.

Despite the appauling weather during the latter part of the week and the many tea and snack breaks, progress has been steady and positive. The walls to the garage have been demolished and the area for the rear extension and pation area has been dug out.

Next week, the area will be marked out for the brickwork and the concrete planks of roof in the garage will be demolished. Hmm, now that will be a tad noisy so I may have to go out .....a lot!!

I'll keep you posted wit hthe progress and will post some photos of the befores and afters.

A new stamp to play with.

My Joanna Sheen order came this morning and I love it!! I ordered the Victorian Romance cd that was on special offer at £4.95 instead on £14.95 and ,while I was there, I thought I may aswell order the wedding guest book stamps that I'd been thinking of.

I'll show you the results of my playtime later.

It's too hot to go out into the garden ,if I can call it that. We've had to strip down the decking in preparation for the builders on monday.

Oooh, cant wait!! (that was sarcasm!! LOL)

I accidentally discovered a new shape and style of card.

Last night I was faffing around with some card and papers and trying to work out a inventive way of using me newly downloaded Daisie company images when this, sort of happenned. It's probably not a new style at all but, its new to me!! LOL

Wow!! This is so addictive!!

I cant believe how addictive this blogging is.

I'm finding that I want to write posts everynight and have to resist the temptation not to bore you to tears with my pathetic ramblings!!

I had a tooth out during the week and boy has it felt strange! The dentist said that it was hanging on by a thread and once he'd numbed my jaw, it had almost 'popped' out on its own.

Apparently, because I have osteoporosis, it is not only contained in my hips and spine, it has also caused degeneration my my jaw bone! It hasnt stopped me talking drinking or eating, so no cause for immediate alarm then eh?? LOL

The dentist asked me if I wanted to keep my tooth and for one tiny moment, I paused to think of how I could use it in my crafting!! You'll be pleased to hear that I declined his offer.

I find myself, flicking my tongue in and out of the gap where once my wobbly molar once lived.

It had become progressivley wobbly over the recent months and now, it was gone.

I can only hope that because this tooth has escaped, that the others dont decide to follow suit!!

I've been tagged!! I hope I'm doing this right??

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why? I'd choose Kathy Burke because she's as mad as I am!
2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why? First two weeks, I'd spend with Michael Bolton (obviously!!) last two weeks with Graham Norton.
3. What are your three favourite crafting products? Sakura pens, beads & Ribbons.
4 If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be? I've already invented something and its got a patent pending.
5. What are the last three books that you read? The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen (Horror) Does my Bum look big in this? Arrabella Wier (comedy) Dirty Girls by Katie Reynolds (rude comedy)
6. Qvc or create & Craft? Create and Craft everytime.
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV? DCWV
8. What is your claim to fame? Erm, loads.. famous Aunties & Uncles (Alison Steadman & Alexander Morton who play Golly in that Scottish drama Monarch of the Glen. Friend of Graham Cole (pc Tony Stamp in the Bill) friend of Jade Goody, Jeff Brazier. Friend of Damon Hill, Also met, Michael Bolton, George Michael, David & Victoria Beckham, Ray Winstone, Michael Barrymore, Clif Richard, David Jason, Gareth Gates and loads of other people too numerous to mention.

Now, I believe I have to pass this onto to five other blogs but, I'm not really sure how to do this. If someone could tell me please, I'd be really grateful.

Happy St Georges Day!!!

Well today is St Georges Day!! Hoorah!!
You wouldnt have realised it from the apparent lack of patriotic paraphernalia adorning the streets!!

I sent my boys out of the house today wearing their red roses in their lapels and just how many people asked them if they were going to a wedding?? Four!!!

My eldest son who has patriotism running through his stoically English veins, told them in no uncertain terms that it was St Georges day and one of them even had the gaul to ask 'who?'

What has happened to this country? We are afraid to celebrate our Saint for fear of upsetting someone from another race and yet the Irish openly celebrate St Patricks day and quite rightly so.

I have heard that a few pubs are holding St George events so atleast thats a step in the right direction..isnt it? Perhaps, people will one day learn all the words to our National Anthem instead of making up whatever fits in with the tune??

Or will this just mean that come closing time a hoard of drunken rabble will be filling our streets and disturbing our peace singing what they believe to be patriotic chants of 'Ingerland. Ingerland!'

Personally, I tend to believe the latter!!

One of my hobbies. Cardmaking.

Approximately three years ago, I started card making. I've always been 'crafty' and have always wanted to do inventive things with my hands.

I am a fully qualified florist and love doing things with my hands. I cant even watch tv without fiddling with something.

My love of cardmaking really took off when the effects of my chemotherapy stared to wear off properly and when I wasnt feeling so tired and weak.

I wish I could remember the exact time or date I started or even the ocassion that prompted me to start this time consuming, expensive but very enjoyable task but, I cant. So thats it.

I joined the DoCrafts board a few years ago and have made some valuable friendships and have learnt a lot from all of the other very talented boysand girls on there. http://www.docrafts.co.uk/

Overtime I 've experimented with stamping, quilling, embossing, you name it, I've had a go! I'm not very good at any of them but, I've enjoyed playing.

My crafting has taken over the dining room, the cupboard under the stairs part of the garage and I'm slowly taking over the living room too.

Luckily, my husband David is very caring and doesnt appear to mind at all. Either that or he just enjoys the quiet life of when I'm busy crafting and creating?? Yeah, thats more like it!! Ha Ha!

Mind you, as soon as the extension is finished, I'll have my very own craft room!! Yaay!!

Hey, just a thought, I'll need to but more stuff then so that the room doesnt look too empty!! Hey hey!!

In memory of BB Vivvy.

Hya Folks, sorry I've not been around that much just lately. A very close friend of mine passed away a couple of weeks ago on February 16th and the news has really shocked my world.

Vivvy, or BB as I called her was a true friend who shared my passion for loved Michael Bolton. The BB part comes from the fact that Michael Bolton calls his fans 'Buzzers' because we get hold of a little snippet of info about him and then we go onto his forum page and 'buzzzzz' between ourselves disecting all the ins and outs of what we've heard. So hence Bolton Buzzers or BB for short.

BB Vivvy fought bravely against breast cancer but sadly, the battle was too much for her frail body and she died on February 16th 2008.

I first time I 'met' Vivvy was when she posted on the www.breastcancersupport.co.uk board that I have been frequenting since I was diagnosed in February of 2002.

We clicked instantly and the fact that she was as mad about Michael Bolton kind of sealed the deal.

We chatted on line for a few months and then we started e-mailing and texting messages.

We eventually met at the support board meet up in Birmingham in march 07. Vivvy sent me some pictures of her reconstruction to encourage me and to reassure me about my pending reconstruction.

We had a great time and knew then we'd be mates forever.

The last time I saw BB was a couple of weeks before she died in Martletts hospice Brighton.

She looked as beautiful then as she had always done.

I really, really miss her.
